Post-Flood Emergency Stream Intervention Training
New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), the NYS Dept. of Transportation (DOT), and the Upper Susquehanna Coalition will be conducting a free six-hour Post-Flood Emergency Stream Intervention training session in Ogdensburg, NY.
This free training seminar is for DOT & municipal officials, Dept. of Public Works staff, municipal equipment operators, contractors and consultants, and other interested entities to provide the knowledge and tools necessary to properly respond to immediate post-flood correction action or "triage" by local municipalities or other individuals, and to work with the stream's natural tendencies while protecting aquatic habitat. This includes in-stream debris jams, compromised stream channel capacity due to deposition, and other corrective measures.
Two (2) professional development hour credits will be provided through the Practicing Institute of Engineering, Inc. (PIE) upon course completion.
