Challenges and Strategies: How to catapult advanced research into products and services for today’s data-driven world

Find out what is happening in the IoT/Security/Big Data sectors from NquiringMinds, a pioneering local firm, and PhD students Leo Valberg (ICSS) and Lawrence Green (Web Science) who are working with them. NquiringMinds is a startup on the University of Southampton Science Park bringing bright minds together to propel research into commercial grade software and hardware in the fields of Big Data, IoT and Security. It has been recognised in the Cisco Pioneers Program as a Top 15 company operating in the fields of IoE (Internet of Everything). Working with problems as diverse as homelessness (CentrePoint) and renewable energy (SEAB), the company’s platform deals with IoT in a genuine end-to-end manner, providing a cloud based interface to manage IoT devices, the data from these devices and the high end analytics that turn IoT data into actionable intelligence. NquiringMinds has recently won a £1m contract to supply a data integration and analytics platform for the UK government.

NquiringMinds is looking to engage with students and staff, and stimulate debate and interest in its work with the potential for further collaboration
