NJIT TAB will be conducting a “Brownfield 101” Seminar on June 9th on the UMBC campus that will include: a discussion of the history of industrialization and how that has led to brownfields; the definition of brownfields; a brief overview of the brownfield assessment, remediation and redevelopment processes; and examples of brownfields that have been successfully redeveloped. Representatives from USEPA Region 3 will also be participating and providing an overview of available federal resources and funding related to brownfields. The Seminar will be held in the USGS MD-DE-DC Water Science Center, 5522 Research Park Drive, Baltimore, MD 21228 from 1:00PM to 3:30PM.
