Description

Take Austin By the Handle Bars!

SXcycles is back for 2015 and will be collaborating with the popular Austin B-cycle city-wide bike share this year. Austin B-cycle’s easy-to-use infrastructure paired with the excitement of SXSW is bound to be a fun transit alternative for registrants and the general public alike.

From Friday, March 13th to Saturday, March 21st – 10am-8pm daily – the SXcycles depot at 604 Driskill St will hand out complementary Austin B-cycle 24-hour access vouchers to SXSW badgeholders. This $8 value grants attendees unlimited rides of 30 minutes or less for 24 hours once activated. Each B-cycle comes with branded basket, three gear options, branded splash guard, reflectors, and built in lights. Voucher quantities are limited per day, so come early to get moving!

Austin B-cycle smashed the national record for per day bike share usage throughout SXSW 2014 with the busiest checkout points at the Austin Convention Center, Rainey St. District and Red River District. Total bike checkouts neared 18,000 with 22,700+ miles ridden from March 7–16. With over 45 stations across downtown Austin, registrants will never be more than a quick walk to a B-cycle checkout point.

So, We Need Your Help!

Are you looking for a fun volunteer opportunity? Have you seen all of the red bikes around Austin? Come join Austin B-cycle during SXSW!

Austin B-cycle is a non-profit organization that provides an easy, fast and fun way for people to get around Austin. Our success wouldn't be possible without the help and support of volunteers. With SXSW being one of the busiest weekends in Austin we are looking for volunteers to help our events team make sure Austin B-cycle is the #1 choice among the SXSW Festival goers. Come out and join in the fun!

Are you ready to ride? Join the events team and help get B-cycles to the riders! With everyone riding to all the hot spots, the events team is responsible for pushing bikes back out into the city, so that they may be used again. Normally done by truck, we need runners to cover the places with closed and congested roads. Expect a fun-filled workout full of riding and running!
