Join our expert speakers and panellists as we discuss ways to improve equity in access to healthcare for children with a developmental disorder and/or a chronic condition.

The full-day Forum will cover the following:

The early years –A consumer will speak about their experience of navigating the system. Association for Children with a Disability (ACD) will then provide an overview of the different services, support groups and resources available to families. Finally, learn more about the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) to enable you to better understand how it can work for families and professionals.

Behaviours of concern - In this session you'll learn about the Disability Act 2006 and medications; managing behaviours of concern at home; and navigating the school system and managing behaviours of concern.

Transition - Presenters from Barwon Health and the Royal Children's Hospital will speak about the different transition programs in operation through their services. Learn about the challenges of developing a transition program for duel disability and what elements are crucial when developing a transition program.

Closing keynote - Mr Bruce Bonyhady, Chair of the National Disability Insurance Agency will talk about bridging the disability-health interface
