Trees in hard landscapes - getting it right in Greater Manchester

A planner, a civil engineer and an arboriculturist will discuss how Greater Manchester can meet its sustainable growth ambitions using urban trees to deliver multiple benefits and returns on investment. The event will discuss the opportunities to deliver a sustainable integrated infrastructure as explored in the Trees and Design Action Group’s new publication ‘Trees in Hard Landscapes: A Guide for Delivery’.
These include above and below ground solutions for traffic calming; sustainable transport; surface water management; high street regeneration and climate change adaptation.
This event will be chaired by Cllr Derek Antrobus, Assistant Mayor for Strategic Planning at Salford City Council, Chair of the NW Regional Flood and Coastal Committee, Chair of the Red Rose Forest Partnership, member of the GM Planning and Housing Commission and member of the GM Natural Capital Group.
This event is endorsed by CIHT for CPD and the Landscape Institute will accept the event for CPD with attendees completing their own CPD records.
