FFHS Editors' Seminar
Date and time
Location
University Centre Peterborough
Park Crescent Peterborough PE1 4DZ United KingdomDescription
Every Family History Society must keep in regular touch with its membership. Until recently this important role has almost exclusively been the domain of the society ‘Journal Editor’.
“The need for such magazines [Family History Journals] to be well presented and produced is crucial … a great deal of responsibility falls upon the editorial teams, especially the editors themselves”. (FFHS booklet - Publishing Family History Journals – 1987)
Almost thirty years on, Family History Societies are still reaching out to their members – but there are now so many ways of doing so. It’s time for FFHS to provide some updated help and guidance!
So … are you a Journal Editor? Newsletter Editor? Social Media (Facebook/Twitter) Editor? Maybe you’re considering becoming one in the near future? Alternatively you could be an FHS Committee Member Simply Wondering What all the Fuss is About?
Why not come along to the FFHS seminar being held at University College Peterborough (UCP) on Saturday 31st January 2015? In fact, why not come as an FHS group? We have the space to accommodate you and (what’s more) you’ll be made very welcome! You can expect:
- Keynote address by Helen Tovey, Editor of Family Tree Magazine plus …
- Additional presentations by Steve Manning, FFHS Education Officer and UCP Personnel
- Practical workshops (including computer workshops) and helpful advice
- An opportunity to talk with like-minded individuals from other Family History Societies
