Yvana Iovino, a local artist and NCLC Marine Program volunteer, will lead this small-group workshop and share her love of linocut, a printmaking technique similar to woodcut. Artists carve a design into a linoleum block; the design is then inked and printed onto paper.
The workshop will take place in the Community Room at NCLC's Circle Creek Conservation Center. Registration is free but limited to 10 participants. As this event will go past noon, participants should feel free to bring snacks or drinks to enjoy!
About the Instructor
Yvana Iovino is a printmaker who lives in Manzanita, Oregon. She has always loved drawing, painting and crafting but began her self-taught linocut journey after moving to the Oregon coast in 2020. She draws inspiration for her art from the ever changing ocean and its inhabitants that she has come to know well through her volunteer work with the Haystack Rock Awareness Program and as a Tidepool Ambassador with NCLC. Her linocuts have been displayed at the Cannon Beach Art Association Gallery and the Hoffman Gallery community shows. Yvana loves to teach and is excited to share her love for this art form with others.
