Follow the Brothers on their journey that began in 1887 with a $50,000.00 dollar investment and ended in "heros" tales of the City's largest industries founders. Learn the truth about the buidling of the Cone Mill Villages, the "Family Trust" Bank, and the secrets of 111 West Washington. The property's beginnings, in the 1850's, to when the Brothers purchase the remainder of the property in 1899 and beyond. 1887-2025, come and learn about the shady business of The Brothers Cone.

Text or call, 336-223-4921 and secure the time slot. If no tickets have sold an hour before the time of the tour, no one will be on the steps at that time.

What is the rain plan?

Rain plan, is a story hour in the lobby at the Biltmore Greensboro Hotel! Given that most of the history revolves around 111 West Washington Street, it gives you a better visual experience, especially given the Museum downstairs underway with many visual aids that can be seen!

Do I bring anything with me?

This tour offers an interactive link to visually aid in the tour, since we are looking back in time. So bring a device with web capability to make use of that link. Also a bottle of water is recommended especially in the Spring, Summer, and Fall. Dress weather appropriate, rain plan is available

Is it safe to walk around Downtown?

Downtown Greensboro has an extremely high number of individuals experiencing homelessness. And while some of them are experiencing unmedicated, and unchecked mental illness don't think of them as dangerous. They are simply people existing, that have nowhere else to go, or to be.

Is the guide experienced in handling interference?

While random interference is rare, it does happen. Our guides are great with managing anyone who does stop and try to join in with the group.

Is there a public restroom on the tour?

No, unfortunately Greensboro, does not have ANY public restrooms in Downtown, minus the Park area, which close around sunset.

Where is parking?

Parking is located in the Greene Street Parking deck. All parking in downtown is free from 6pm until 6am daily. Those leaving the parking deck after 7pm can pull straight out.

Where do we meet?

We meet on the steps of The Biltmore Greensboro Hotel, and we meet 15 mins before the tour time to get scanned and registered.
