The Uproot Project is delighted to announce our event during Climate Week NYC 2024. “Sustainable Stories: Climate, Food, and Culture through Diverse Voices” will take place on September 27th from 1-4 p.m. at the Climate Imaginarium on Governor's Island in New York City. This event will bring together thought leaders, environmental journalists, and community advocates to explore the intersections of climate, food, and culture. With a keynote address, a dynamic panel discussion, and a hands-on storytelling workshop, attendees will gain unique insights into how diverse voices and cultural perspectives can drive meaningful climate solutions.

GETTING TO GOVERNOR'S ISLAND:
There are two ferries with routes to Governor's Island on Friday:
- From Battery Maritime Building - Ferry operated by Trust for Governor's Island. Tickets cost $5 (round-trip). Ferries depart every 30 minutes. Please visit this website for more info, schedules, and to purchase tickets: https://www.govisland.com/plan-your-visit/ferry
- NYC Ferry (South Brooklyn route). This route has stops at Corlears Hook, DUMBO, Pier 11, Atlantic Ave, Red Hook, Sunset Park, and Bay Ridge. Tickets cost $4.50 (one way) and can be purchased on the NYC Ferry App or at Ticket Vending Machines located on NYC Ferry landings. Other things to know:
- The Climate Imaginarium house is zero-waste. If you have reusable utensils, feel free to bring them! Be prepared to carry your trash back on the ferry with you.
