About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

If you have a baby, sleep is one of the most asked questions…. do they sleep, have you tried this, well my child just slept – you must be doing something wrong….. However it is often the case that little ones don’t sleep independently, or for long periods and parents feel that being exhausted is part of parenting.

Its true, babies wake a lot……. especially in the early days, however as they get a little older, help is out there, and within a couple of weeks you can feel more rested, everyone can get better quality sleep, and you can make the most of being a parent.

If you would like to learn more about babies sleep, and what to expect from 4 to 12 months, this is for you. It also covers steps for how you can improve tricky naps, disrupted nights and support everyone to get more sleep.

"I attended Lucy’s virtual Sleep Seminar and I can’t thank her enough. Lucy provided me with very insightful knowledge around sleep and the importance of it for babies along with how to support my own baby in developing good sleeping skills. When answering questions, Lucy was very friendly, personable and helpful, sharing great advice and tips to make improvements. I would highly recommend the sleep seminar to all parents."Mummy to a 9 month old who attended a previous seminar

The 90-120 minute seminar (via teams) will focus on:

• The importance of sleep.

• How much sleep should you, and your child should be getting.

• How can you structure your child’s sleep in a way that works for their age.

• Top tips for getting your child to get better quality, longer and more restful sleep.

• How to implement a great routine.

• Practical steps to take if your little ones sleep is difficult at the moment, without resorting to the “cry it out” method.

Parents and carers will also have the opportunity to ask any sleep related questions as part of the session.

Lucy Murray is a certified baby and child sleep consultant with Little Dreams Sleep Consultancy and owner of Little Dreams Chelmsford and Colchester. She supports families with children aged 4 months to 10 years to improve their sleep and help the whole family feel more rested using evidence based approaches, that do not use “the cry it out method”. With three children of her own, she truly understands how hard it can be to have a tricky sleeper and the importance of seeking help when you need it. Lucy has a reputation of being calm and approachable and always strives to make families feel at ease and in control of their own parenting approach.

The seminar will provide a broad understanding of babies sleep and practical steps on how to improve it. If you feel you need more support, or would like to find out more about how Lucy supports families on a 1:1 basis, visit the website below:

The seminar will be a minimum of 90 minutes and a maximum of 2 hours depending on questions asked. The group size is kept small to enable everyone to have a chance to ask questions.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to have my camera on

No, however you are more than welcome to. I know that sometimes it can feel daunting having the camera on so please feel free to leave it off.

I have a 15 month old, would this still be useful?

Yes! Whilst some of the information is based around 4-12 months, the strategies used to support better sleep can be used for babies and toddlers in a cot.

I have a newborn, is it too early?

Not at all! Whilst I would recommend you wait until 4 months to start some of the supportive sleep elements of the seminar until they are 4 months, the information and techniques in the session will leave you informed about the next stage, and know what to do if sleep becomes a little tricky.

Can I have my child with me

Yes of course! If you need to feed, change a nappy, answer the door....this is absolutely fine!

Is it recorded?

It isn't recorded, however I do send out an information sheet afterwards with the main information on it so you have something to refer back to.

How do I get the online link?

Once you have ordered your ticket, the confirmation will contain a Microsoft Teams link. Please keep this safe! If the confirmation does not come through, please check your junk folder and then email me on Lucy@littledreamschelmsfordandcolchester.com.
