Yes, Brown and Green cafe is an accessible cafe with a lovely, welcoming event space.

Is there free parking?

Accepted Answer

Yes on thicket Road, or surrounding streets.

Question 3

Whats the nearest station?

Accepted Answer

Crystal Palace or Penge West are the closet national rail stations to the park.

Question 4

Are dogs aloud at the festival?

Accepted Answer

Whilst the park and cafe are dog friendly, dogs can’t come into events. With the exception  of accessibility dogs, who are very welcome.

Are there separate events for children and adults?

Accepted Answer

Yes, The children’s literature events are in the morning and early afternoon, and the adults fiction events are in the late afternoon and early evening. Each event is ticketed separately.

Question 6

Can I bring babies and younger children to an event?

Accepted Answer

All ages and identities are welcome at our children’s events. Children over the age of two will need a ticket, and buggies will have to be stored outside.

Question 7

How long are the author events?

Accepted Answer

Each event is roughly 45 minutes, with the option to purchase a book from a pop-up bookshop and have it signed by the Author afterwards.

Am I able to buy refreshments on site?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely! Brown And Green are providing delicious refreshments to purchase in the event Space, or you can eat after the event in the café.

Will there be a sign language interpreter?

Accepted Answer

Not this year. But we hope to fund raise for a sign language interpreter for future Stories by the Lake events.

Is the festival inclusive?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Stories By The Lake is championing deaf, disabled and neurodivergent authors as well as celebrating diverse talent. Every one is welcome at the festival.
