This training is designed to support victims who are managing stalking in Maryland; however, all are welcome and may benefit from this training.

Training Objectives include:

Stalking Definitions
Types of Stalking
Stalking Behaviors
Stalking Outcomes
Laws in Maryland
Stalking Documentation Logs
Response Tactics
Safety Planning

We will not be going in depth regarding stalking behaviors, stalking outcomes, types of stalking or Maryland Laws.

This training is meant to support victims understand the types of stalking, their options in responding to the behaviors, and the laws available in Maryland to support them. This training is not intended to prevent stalking, nor will it necessarily stop the pursuit or intrusions of a stalker.

Please keep in mind, this training is interactive and will include discussions of stalking and scenarios of stalking victimization, therefore it may be triggering for some participants.

Is pre-registration required?

Yes, all participants will need to pre-register. You will be sent an agreement explaining the terms of participation as well as our disclaimer regarding our restrictions, such as we do not provide mental health and legal advice. We will also send a 10 question pre-assessment.

Is the building and parking accessible?

Yes, there is free parking, all the rooms are on the first floor. The class room and all bathrooms and amenities are disability accessible. Please email us with any questions.

Will this training show me how to stop a stalker?

No, this training is intended to support victims in understanding their options regarding response tactics to stalking. This includes safety tips, stalking logs, reporting, and mental health.

Is this training only for Marylanders?

Not necessarily, this training is specifically designed focusing on Maryland laws. However, others victims from surrounding areas may find some of the tips useful.
