About this event

We're baaaack!

After the success of our February pop-up, we're returning to Serenity Retreat in the heart of New York City to offer your new favorite wellness routine - intentional and deliberate crying!

While a good cry is always a fantastic idea, did you know that there are actual, science-backed, health benefits associated with crying?

Like the fact that emotional tears carry literal stress hormones, so when you release them, you're actively releasing stress? Or how about the cooling of your brain's temperature every time you rapidly inhale air during a good sob session.

Yeah, there's loads to unpack here, and we've got the perfect space for you to do so. Between custom curated playlists and intentionally selected journaling prompts just for you, you'll be in your feelings and in your emotional wellness bag in just 30 minutes.

Don't believe us? Just ask CBS News or New York Post! Whatever you do, do not miss your chance to be one of only a few guests at our April 2025 Pop-Up! Grab your ticket now.

Frequently asked questions

How do I find Sob Parlour?

Sob Parlour exists within us all...but if you're talking about the specific SobSession you booked, head on down to 243 W 30th Street - it's right next to 787 coffee (yum!) in between 7th and 8th ave (yes, right next to MSG). Then follow the instructions to buzz up to 10 (see IG story day of!).

What time should I arrive?

Please arrive 5 minutes before your appointment so we can check you in, you can use the restroom, and get settled. We only have a five minute slot between each session to prepare the suite for the next guest, so your timeliness is super important! Running late? Email us at sobparlour@gmail.com.

Do I have to actually cry?

No! Crying is encouraged and we hope you do, so that you can *literally* release stress hormones from your body and cool your brain temperature. But hey, there's also something nice about just hanging out in a wellness-forward third space for 30 minutes on a Sunday afternoon!

What if 30 minutes isn't enough time?

Easy, book two sessions! Plus you'd get an extra five minutes free.

Is this real?

It sure is, baby! Sob On!
