Description

Watch the livestream beginning at 6:00pm CET (12:00pm EST) on Wednesday, December 4.

Since the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) was launched in late 2014, many of the world’s biggest companies have set targets to reduce their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions according to what science said was needed to avert dangerous climate change. A simple idea, but also a step-change in how companies think about climate action.

Today, 650+ companies are at the vanguard in the fight against climate change, demonstrating that operating within the scientific thresholds for a climate-safe world goes hand-in-hand with a successful business and economy.

A fledgling initiative has snowballed into a global movement. Yet, this journey is just beginning.

On December 4 at the UN's annual climate conference (COP25) in Madrid, the SBTi will release a new report that takes stock of the progress made since its launch and its impacts around the globe. The report also analyses where progress is uneven and where additional efforts are necessary.

A panel discussion will explore the initiative’s impact, and next steps for driving transformative climate action from the private sector.
