About this event

Pending weather and trail conditions

Join one of our volunteers on an informal, easy going walk to orient you to the trails and introduce you to some of the plants and animals that can be found at Savannas Preserve State Park. Ideal for newcomers and beginners who would like company when exploring the outdoors with someone who is familiar with the terrain.
Bring water, sun protection, comfortable shoes, and binoculars if you have them.
Meets at the Ed Center Pavilion at 8am.
**Weather dependent. It will be canceled if there is rain.

The event is free with $3/vehicle park admission that is collected via a yellow honor box when you come in through the main gate. Exact change is needed OR you can purchase a day pass online with credit card: https://www.floridastateparks.org/.../park-admission...Please write the confirmation number on the blue envelope before dropping it into the yellow box and hang the blue hanger in your windshield. If you have an annual pass, please write your pass number on the blue envelope and drop it in the box. This way Tallahassee can see how many visitors utilize our park.

Located on Florida's southeast coast, the park's scenic landscapes represent what the first pioneers would have seen in the area. Savannas Preserve State Park protects a representative sample of a basin marsh that extended throughout South Florida prior to rapid suburban growth.
