WOO! For our May 2025 Roast Ride, we are SO EXCITED to announce that this will be a special Indy 500-theme ride. This ride will be a bit longer in time and distance, as we'll be biking the Cultural Trail and adjoing trails to Speedway, where we'll visit The Spark Coffee and Founders Grounds!
This ride will also be starting at a new location: The Orange Bridge on the Canal (332 W. Walnut St).
MAY Roast Ride: FREE local coffee shop bike tour along the Indianapolis Cultural Trail!
Get ready for our May Roast Ride on Saturday, May 10! The ride will begin promptly at 10 AM, so please arrive early with plenty of time to sign waivers, ready bikes, and go over any preceding announcements.
About the Roast Ride
The Indianapolis Coffee Guide and the Indianapolis Cultural Trail have teamed up to combine a few of our favorite things: local coffee + bikes + the Cultural Trail.
Join us for a fun-filled morning exploring the vibrant coffee scene in Indianapolis. Hop on your bike and get ready to pedal through the city's iconic Cultural Trail, stopping at some of the best local coffee shops along the way.
Starting at The Orange Bridge on the Canal (332 W. Walnut St), this beginner-friendly group ride is the perfect opportunity to support local businesses while also exploring the amazing Cultural Trail. Whether you're a coffee connoisseur or just enjoy a good cup of local coffee, this bike tour is sure to satisfy your caffeine cravings.
As we pedal through the city, you'll also have the chance to admire the beautiful sights along the Indianapolis Cultural Trail and learn more about the incredible impact the Cultural Trail has had on the city. This world-class urban bike and pedestrian path connects various neighborhoods, parks, and cultural attractions, providing a scenic backdrop for our adventure.

Biking Options!
We recommend bringing your own bike if possible. However, our friends at the Indianapolis Cultural Trail will be providing a limited number of free Pacers Bikeshare Bikes for each ride.
They also have adaptive bicycles, that are specifically designed for people who aren’t comfortable or have mobility challenges that make riding a two-wheeled bike difficult, that can be utilized.
You WILL need to sign an additional waiver for these. Pacers Bikeshare bikes must be docked or locked when not in use.

Frequently asked questions
It is FREE to participate in the Roast Ride. However, any optional coffee or other purchases made by the riders would be on their own. We recommend participants bring a credit card or cash should they choose to make any purchases.
We recommend bringing your own bike if possible. However, our friends at the Indianapolis Cultural Trail will be providing a limited number of free Pacers Bikeshare Bikes for each ride. You WILL need to sign an additional waiver. Pacers Bikeshare bikes must be docked or locked when not in use.
Our friends at The Cultural Trail have you covered! They have adaptive bicycles, that are specifically designed for people who aren’t comfortable or have mobility challenges that make riding a two-wheeled bike difficult, that can be utilized. You will need to sign an additional waiver for these.
Roast Rides begin promptly at 10 AM and typically lasts 2-3 hours. The ride covers about 3-5 miles in distance at a leisurely pace with a few stops at local shops to grab coffee and rest. Please arrive early with plenty of time to sign waivers, ready bikes, and go over any preceding announcements.
We'll watch the weather as closely as we can, and riders will be notified at least an hour in advance of any cancellations. That being said, the Cultural Trail is kept free of snow and ice, so as long as it's not raining too badly, we should be good to go! <insert joke about Indiana weather here>
Besides planning for the weather, be sure to bring all the safety and personal equipment you need for biking, including a helmet, a lock, and water!
Yes, this is a beginner-friendly ride that welcomes all ages, abilities, and paces. However, space is limited for these events. Each rider needs to individually register through Eventbrite. We may not be able to accommodate unregistered riders.
Part of the fun of Roast Rides is that we will be hitting up different local coffee shops each month! The rides will always begin and end at Lugar Plaza and primarily use the Indianapolis Cultural Trail.
Lugar Plaza is a modern public square in downtown Indianapolis, located just north of East Washington Street between Delaware and Alabama Streets, on the south side of City-County Building and across from the Julia M. Carson Transit Center.The address for Lugar Plaza is 200 E. Washington St.
Roast Ride are held on select Saturdays at 10 AM. Make sure to check Eventbrite and the Indianapolis Cultural Trail event calendar!
