Exhibition Statement:
Luminous features recent artworks by Alexis Howard and Dylan Bannister which seek to highlight the serendipitous beauty in the everyday. Both artists utilize photography as a tool to capture instantaneous moments, offering new perspectives on ordinary objects and spaces. Using their images as the genesis for creative exploration, Alexis and Dylan challenge conventional photographic presentation methods through their use of unique substrates and interdisciplinary techniques.

Using her photos as journal entries, Alexis’ works highlight the softness and beauty of the natural world, and are displayed through alternative photographic processes and printmaking techniques.

Dylan’s images give prominence to derelict utilitarian fixtures and buildings, which he presents as pigment transfers on panels that are further pushed using mixed media processes and collage / assemblage.
