QPR Training

QPR Training

Overview

QPR: Question, Persuade, and Refer. Three simple steps to save a life from suicide.

Just as people trained in CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade, and refer someone for help.

Jennifer Acker, a Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Master Addiction Counselor, Approved Clinical Supervisor, and QPR Instructor, will facilitate this in-person interactive training. Jennifer is a Staff Therapist with the Summit Counseling Center. The Summit Counseling Center is partnering with Johns Creek United Methodist Church to provide this important training for community members.

Participants will receive a training booklet and reference cards.

The Johns Creek United Methodist Church Summit Counseling Center Advisory Committee will provide refreshments and snacks.
