About this event

  • Event lasts 3 hours

You are invited to attend the final presentations of the University of Oklahoma (OU) School of Civil Engineering and Environmental Science (CEES) Environmental Science and Environmental Engineering Senior Capstone (CEES 4913/4923) projects and the Landscape Architecture (LA) Graduate Studio II (LA 5525) on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Haney Center Lecture Hall, Seminole State College. Doors open at 5:30 pm when snacks will be provided.

CEES undergraduate student teams will present their final designs for incorporating a “One Water” approach to the proposed Maple Leaf Resorts development. They will emphasize ideas for holistic management of water resources (raw water supply, wastewater, and stormwater) to provide long-term reliability, sustainability, and resiliency meeting both human and ecosystem needs, with a focus on natural infrastructure and nature-based solutions.

LA students will present their master plans for the Maple Leaf Resort Area. Working in groups, the students conducted detailed studies of the area's natural and human systems, as well as its history and culture. Their master plans address sustainability, wildlife preservation, and the creation of successful public spaces, incorporating concepts such as native ecosystem restoration and community health.
