KIRK HAMMETT is the lead guitarist of Metallica and scribe of band’s legendary “Enter Sandman” riff. A guitar aficionado and collector, Kirk partnered with Gibson Publishing to create The Collection: Kirk Hammett, a luxury 400-page coffee table book, which explores in unprecedented detail the extraordinary guitar collection and life in music of one of heavy metal’s true pioneers.
Hammett joins Gibsons' Director of Brand Experience, Mark Agnesi, for a special deep-dive conversation about his legendary guitar collection.

ABOUT
One of the most influential metal guitarists of all time, Kirk Hammett is the lead guitarist and a contributing songwriter in the legendary band Metallica.
Kirk grew up in California and formed the band Exodus during the birth of the Bay Area thrash metal movement. In 1983, he began his now 40-year career as the lead guitarist of Metallica. The band has released 11 studio albums selling over 125 million albums, winning 10 GRAMMY® Awards. Metallica was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2009.
Kirk published Too Much Horror Business, a 2012 hardcover book of his expansive horror-themed memorabilia collection.
Images for The Collection: Kirk Hammett were photographed on location in Hawaii and Los Angeles by legendary rock photographer Ross Halfin and incorporates rare imagery from Halfin’s archive. This latest book release from Gibson Publishing features exclusive interviews with the guitarist and takes a deep dive into Kirk's iconic guitar collection.

Paid ticket required for entry.
General admission seating begins around 6:15 p.m. after the library has closed to the public. Event guests who are in the library prior to its closing at 6 p.m. must gather in the lobby. Early seating will not be permitted.
Free parking available in Main Library's attached garage, while available. Capacity 450 vehicles. Additional paid street parking surrounds the library.
Books will not be sold at the event. Visit Gibson Publishing to purchase The Collection: Kirk Hammett, if interested.
Due to time constraints, there will not be a photo or signing opportunity after the program.
