About this event

  • Event lasts 4 hours

Fathers. Leaders. Advocates. Your voice matters in Black maternal health.

Kings & Cradles, hosted by the Greater Baltimore Urban League, National Council of Negro Women - Greater Baltimore Section, and Morgan State University Center for Urban Health Equity, is an open and honest conversation about the role of Black men in maternal and infant health. Too often, men are left out of the discussion—but the truth is, your presence, support, and advocacy can make all the difference.

💡 What We’ll Talk About:

  • The barriers Black families face in maternal healthcare—and how we can break them down.
  • Ways men can support their partners through pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum.
  • The rise of Black male doulas and healthcare advocates—and why they matter.
  • How Black men can advocate for better maternal healthcare policies and parental rights.

🎤 Featuring:
Jeff Johnson—award-winning journalist, Black maternal health advocate, and trained doula—along with health professionals, researchers, and fathers sharing their knowledge and lived experiences.

This is about awareness and action. Maternal health isn't just a women's issue.
