Our February Speakers:
Shi Choong
Talk Title: Women Who Dare
Talk Description:
I am organizing an event called ""Women Who Dare"" on Mar 8 at Venetian Hillsboro (Washington County). It is an event that celebrates the fearless women who have dared to break boundaries and pave the way for others. This event is motivated by my recent leap of faith when I quit Intel 2 months ago to become a full entrepreneur to do what I love - event planning and modeling. I wanted to create a platform for other women leaders to share their stories and inspire others to be their authentic selves.
I'll be sharing the details about the keynote speakers' info and a little more about how I have dared to break barriers as an immigrant, first gen college student, woman in a male-dominating industry and later a full time entrepreneur.
Shi's Bio:
Born and raised in Malaysia, Shi raised her 3 younger siblings at the age of 15 when her parents abandoned them. A year later, her mother returned, but the challenges were far from over. Moving to the U.S., Shi faced language barriers, loneliness, and financial hardship, working four jobs to fund her college education. Despite these struggles, she graduated as the department honoree in Chemistry and Biochemistry. During her PhD, Shi faced the real test of her strength in her personal and academic life. Her mother disowned her for refusing to quit her education. Compounded by the inability to publish her research, and when she requested projects she could publish, her advisor asked her to leave. Refusing to give up, and despite battling anxiety and depression, Shi restarted her PhD in her fourth year and completed it against all odds, less than 2 years later, in 2018.
In Sept 2024, Shi left Intel to pursue her true passion. Today, she’s launching this “Women Who Dare” event — a platform to amplify the voices of women breaking barriers and embracing their authentic selves, inspiring others to do the same.

Talk Title: So You Learned a Thing…Now What?: Breaking the Cycle of Stuckness and Turning Growth into Action
Talk Description:
As women entrepreneurs, we are constantly learning—new strategies, mindset shifts, business tools—but growth isn’t just about gathering knowledge. It’s about integration. In this engaging session, we’ll explore the ASPIRE Framework, a simple yet powerful tool to help you turn insights into action, navigate stuck points, and break the cycle of feeling like you’re “failing” at growth. You’ll leave with a clear, actionable approach to making real, sustainable progress—without the self-judgment spiral.
Jess 's Bio:
Jess DuBose, ADHD coach & implementation queen, empowers ADHDers to embrace their magic, grow in community, and turn dreams into action with tools, insights, and a sprinkle of chaos.
