In the new eight-episode public television series Iconic America: Our Symbols and Stories with David Rubenstein, Rubenstein spotlights cherished artifacts, locations, and archetypes around the country by engaging with historical thinkers, community members, and subject matter experts. Together, they dive deeply into each symbol's story and how its meaning has changed over time, using these icons as a gateway to understanding America's past and present. Marking the series debut, this special event includes highlights from the series and features a conversation with Secretary of the Smithsonian Lonnie G. Bunch III, Librarian of Congress Carla Hayden, series host and executive producer David Rubenstein, and moderator PBS NewsHour contributor and New York Times columnist David Brooks.

Attendance is free, but registration is required and seating is limited.

Iconic America: Our Symbols and Stories with David Rubenstein premieres on WETA PBS and PBS stations nationwide on April 26 at 10 p.m. ET and streams on the PBS App.
