June Henry

June Henry is a twenty-year-old freak folk singer-songwriter from Lawrence, Kansas. Known best for her minute-long voice memo “void-adjacent”, she has released a concerning number of bedroom recordings documenting her life as a limerence-ridden, lycanthropy-obsessed boygirl since 2019. Prior to official releases, Henry’s music resided in a Google drive folder shared with a small group of friends. In early 2022, while she was bedridden with the flu and souped up on NyQuil, these friends convinced her to make some of these songs easier to access. Henry’s first official album, Class Pet, was released to the public on March 15, 2022.

Since then, it has been rare for Henry to go longer than four months without a release. Those close to her know that it is also rare for her to go longer than a day without writing a song. When asked about her songwriting process, she always answers the same way:

“It’s not really something I know how to do so much as something I have to do to keep myself from exploding.”
