About this event

Frequently asked questions

What should I expect at the event?

Your hosts, Vincent and Penny, will talk about the benefits of understanding emotions and gaining emotional self-awareness. In this safe, judgement free space we will discuss why emotions have been such a source of discomfort and how embracing emotions is our greatest source of healing.

Who are the hosts and why should I join in?

Vincent and Penny are colleagues who blend their unique perspectives from higher education and lived experience to engage all who are interested. Vincent is the informed educator while Penny has been researching trauma, triggers and emotional wellness for over a decade.

Why is it called an innovation lab?

We wanted to get away from the standard workshop and offer a fresh setting for the exploration of emotional wellness. It is our intention to bring a new approach to these types of discussions. We plan on sharing our own growth experiences to demonstrate the advantages of this work.

Can I talk about my problems in this space?

We are not therapists and don’t intend to do specific coaching but we will take on questions with the intent of offering tools and deeper levels of understand to assist in moving through the problems we all encounter in life.

What will the conversations in the lab be like?

Our idea is to have an easy flow in the conversations. Neither of us are stuffy or formal in our speech. We will stumble over our words and laugh about it. We are here to bring light to a subject that’s been kept in the dark far too long and we want everyone to feel better for it.

What do I need to do to prepare?

Please be ready to have an hour and a half of uninterrupted time to fully engage in the lab. If possible plan on being in one place on a laptop or stationary with your phone. Bring something to write with to take notes, which will be especially useful at the start of the lab.
