About this event

Trained Dental Assistants are currently in high demand in Michigan. Oakland Community College's Dental Assistant training is 14 weeks long at our Highland Lakes campus in Waterford for both class and clinic. Students will also go to dental partners in Oakland County for their externship. In this training, you will learn basic dental terminology and anatomy, fundamentals of dental assisting, restorative and preventative dentistry, and more! Students will end with a Dental Radiography certification through the Michigan Dental Association (MDA), a BLS certification, and an OCC Certificate of Completion. After completing the training and working 3,500 hours under a Dentist, students can sit for the Certified Dental Assistant National Board Exam (DANB).
