About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour

In this webinar, we’ll describe the one-year project in which Kim Rezentes delivered Mindful Awareness in Body-oriented Therapy (MABT) at Harborview Hospital. Kim Rezentes, an RN on staff at Harborview Hospital, was trained in MABT specifically to explore delivery within the context of Harborview’s outpatient Mental Health Clinic.

Cynthia and Kim will cover information about how patients were referred, the types of clients who expressed interest, and how many patients completed the 8-week program. Kim will describe her experience delivering MABT in this context, as well as some case vignettes. This project is a path to integration of MABT into mental health services. There will be time for Q & A and discussion.

About MABT: Delivered individually with a sequenced teaching approach, Mindful Awareness in Body-oriented Therapy (MABT) is designed to develop interoceptive awareness to promote self-care and emotion regulation. An evidenced-based approach, developed by Dr. Cynthia Price, MABT has been shown to improve interoceptive awareness skills, symptoms of mental and health distress and emotion regulation.

Who is this event for? This event is designed for therapists and health care practitioners interested in the integration of mind-body therapies in conventional health care services, and specifically the integration of MABT.
