About this event

Following the WB/IMF Spring Meetings and before ECOSOC in New York, this one-and-a-half day workshop will bring together activists, academics, funders, and aligned researchers to discuss pathways toward debt and climate justice. This meeting is the culmination of three months of online meetings between civil society and academics working on different aspects of the debt and climate crises as a space to build shared aims and analysis while identifying new research and advocacy priorities. Summaries of these preliminary meetings will be made available to registered participants prior to this event.

We welcome aligned researchers and advocates to join us for one and a half days of lively discussions, network building, and strategizing on key issues including reform of the Bretton Woods Instititions, loss and damage, and envisioning more just climate and financial futures. Lunch will be provided on 4/20, breakfast will be provided on 4/21, and Saturday's meetings will be followed by happy hour. The full hours of the event are 9 AM to 5 PM on Saturday 4/20, and 10 AM to 1 PM on Sunday 4/21. Registration is free but space is limited so please only register if you are fairly certain you will be able to attend.

The event is co-organized by ReCourse, the Climate and Community Project, University of Glasgow and University of Antwerp with the financial support of the Open Society Foundation (Europe).
