About this event

Call for Papers

Conference: 13 and 14 May 2025

Deadline for proposals: 28 March 2025

The School of Creative Arts is pleased to announce an internal conference for research students and staff on the broad theme of ‘Academia and the Arts: Partnership and Collaboration’. Research in the School largely focuses on the critical analysis and production of cultural artefacts and performances, with strong community engagement aimed at making a difference in the world. This conference will share and celebrate the School’s research and the positive impact it has on people’s lives and the environment.

This call is for proposals for:

a) a 20 minute in-person presentation involving research discussion and/or creative performance,

b) a poster presentation (A0 size, supplied as a PDF).

Universities are striving to become more connected – to each other, to communities, to industry. In this conference we hope that papers will encourage us to reflect on the benefits, methodologies, and connections that we are currently exploring. Presentations can be on any topic which relates to this and involves some form of engagement with or beyond academia.

The conference is intended to create a space in which multidisciplinary knowledge can be shared, analysed, and transformed, with a particular focus on the contributions and participation of postgraduate research students at any stage of their research journey.

Please send proposals for presentations to scapgconf@glos.ac.uk. They should be no more than 300 words in length and should be accompanied by a short biography of up to 100 words. The deadline for submissions is 28 March 2025.

The conference will take place on 13 May and 14 May 2025 in person at Francis Close Hall, Cheltenham. Further details to follow. Attendance is free of charge.
