About this event

  • Event lasts 3 hours

Feed your Spirit, Fulfill your Potential. Creative Resiliency in Fierce Times. Be in a state of play in a non-judgmental environment, with a warm & fun community.

Collage itself is a potent metaphor - to cut up fragments & disassemble what is readily available to us in our world - and then re-ordering it into a new whole. This IS transformation and transmutation - a way to process and re-make our inner & outer worlds. Such an accessible and sophisticated art form with a long history! Join with some friends. You will be guided with prompts (if desired) and art historical inspiration to begin.

Art & Community at its finest. Fierce creative energy at play. Building community, connection & resilience in the face of the dark forces of our times. Guided fun & cut and paste mayhem with a lot of nourishing spiritual magic. Imperfection necessary and welcome.

For all levels — beginner to professional. No experience necessary.

Frequently asked questions

Who can attend?

This workshop is open to the public. It is designed for adults, but can easily include accompanied kids 10 and up . It is a warm, safe space in my art studio. However, it is on a second floor, only accessed by stairs. Because it is in my private space I require a phone meeting before you can join.

Do I have to register in advance?

Yes. Please register in advance, space is limited and I must have a head count to provide adequate supplies for the workshop. I will respond with additional information regarding directions to venue, suggested optional, additional materials to bring, and answer any questions you may have.

Do I have to have artistic talent?

I operate on the premise that everyone has the capacity to create. This workshop is designed to accommodate the beginner to the most experienced collage participants. This is a place of nonjudgmental creative processing. Collage is one of the most accessible & welcoming modes of art making.

Is this Art Therapy?

All art making has a therapeutic component and positive effect, but I don't consider it art therapy. It can enhance self awareness and self compassion. It encourages community connectedness and empathy.

What if I miss a class?

I will be offering one makeup session on another day or evening to be announced for those who may miss a class due to illness or other reason. Refunds are not given, but I will do my best to accommodate those with this make up class in the 8 week course.

Can I try one class before committing to the full 8 week Session?

Yes! Newcomers can try it out the first class before deciding to commit to the full 8 weeks.

Where is the studio in LA?

We meet at my LA Studio in Miracle Mile, near Olympic & La Brea.

What if I am nervous or feel shy to join?

This would be normal! I make sure to create a warm, non-judgmental space for all to feel safe in. That is ALWAYS the best way, because it is vulnerable to create. When one feels safe to be authentic and make a lot of "mistakes", the best always flows forth. Please join my Zoom intro on April 2 or 9.
