Overview

New music in the Washington Baths listening room.

Saxophonist, composer and improviser Cole Pulice traffics in shimmering, otherworldly beauty. On Land’s End Eternal, their first album for Leaving Records, the Oakland-based artist expands their compositional palette beyond signal-processed saxophone to include layers of electric guitar and lush choral arrangements. The result is a prismatic collection of pastoral chamber jazz in six parts.

Cole’s previous release, a 22-minute electroacoustic odyssey titled If I Don’t See You in the Future, I’ll See You In the Pasture (Longform Editions, 2023), was named ‘Best New Track’ by Pitchfork and included in the publication’s Best Songs Of The 2020s.

Cole has also released a smattering of solo and collaborative work on beloved labels including Moon Glyph, Aural Canyon and Cached Media. Their performance history includes appearances at Pitchfork Music Festival (UK), Rewire (NL), ÜBERJAZZ (DE), Copenhagen Jazz Festival (DK), Drone Not Drones (US), & Noise Pop Festival (US).

Composer/filmmaker Jake Meginsky, a New Music USA award winner and Massachusetts Cultural Council Fellow in both music and film, has collaborated and performed with an extraordinary range of musicians including Milford Graves, Alvin Lucier, Joan La Barbara, Kim Gordon, Vic Rawlings, Greg Kelley, Bhob Rainey, Joe McPhee, Thurston Moore, William Parker, Daniel Carter, Paul Flaherty, John Truscinski, Arthur Brooks, and Bill Nace. His recordings can be found on NNA (Burlington, VT), Mantile (London), Second Sleep (Milan), Feeding Tube Records (Northampton, MA), Rel Records (Providence, RI), Open Mouth Records (Northampton, MA), Wooden Finger Records (Belgium), Ultra Eczema Records (Belgium), Ecstatic Peace Records (London/Northampton), and Poole Music Ltd. (Portland, ME). His latest solo album, 1000cuts, will be released on Ben Hall's Ornette Coleman Fiend Club records (OCFC) in 2026. He is presently artist in residence at the School for Contemporary Dance and Thought in Northampton, MA.

Lemuel Marc is a composer and trumpet player from Boston. They play regularly around New England with improvisers including Evan Palmer, Yoona Kim, Brittany Karlson, Michael Larocca and the Hivemind Brass Quintet. Lemuel's debut solo album, "Replace the Population" was released in 2025 on Relative Pitch Records. A video of their solo set from Non-Event's 2024's Waterworks festival is available here.
