In 1973, the University of Maryland Carey School of Law became one of the first law schools in the nation to offer students practice experience through a clinical law program. Since that time, clinical legal education has grown tremendously, developing a pedagogy and scholarship all its own, while at the same time increasing access to justice for marginalized communities across the country. In honor of our 50th anniversary, the Maryland Carey Law Clinical Law Program has assembled an incredible group of thinkers—committed to advancing, re-envisioning, and transforming conceptions of lawyering, teaching, scholarship, fairness, and justice—to consider what the next 50 years of clinical legal education could look like. Titled “Clinical Community Rounds: The Next 50 Years of Clinical Education,” this conference will engage our speakers and participants in an online event. Please join us for this celebration and conversation!
