This multi-block, multi-sensory night on the town showcases the Bromo Arts District in all its glory: open galleries, live performances, imaginative projects, and in-person engagement, all taking place on Thursday, May 15, from 5-9pm.

AFTER PARTY


Wrap up your night at the Bromo Art Walk After Party from 9–11pm at Current Space's Garden Bar! Enjoy a live performance from Glorian, the experimental pop project of Joseph Mulhollen. From operatic dance tracks to experimental acoustic sets, Glorian blends neo-folk and electronic dance pop to set the mood for the night. Keep the energy high with a DJ set from DJ ILYSM. Grab a drink at the bar and enjoy late-night bites.

Please show your free Art Walk Eventbrite registration (digitally or printed) at the door. Enter through 421 N. Tyson Street, located between Mulberry and Franklin Streets. Once the courtyard capacity is reached, new attendees will only be let in as people leave. Thank you for understanding.

All Five Of Us is powerful new play about five college students who, having endured months of quarantine during the Covid pandemic, finally reach their breaking point. A staged reading of a full-length drama in two acts. Followed by a Talkback with the author.

Come explore the Tower! Visit working artist studios, enjoy the gallery walk down the building's staircase, and tour the famous historic clock room and museum, featuring a collection of artifacts related to Bromo's fascinating history. Clock room tours end at 8pm.

Get ready for big band brilliance as renowned jazz educator, trombonist, and bassist Charles Funn leads the Funn Band in an unforgettable night of live music, featuring the timeless works of Eubie Blake, Count Basie, Duke Ellington, and more!

Inside, view the Baker Artist Award Finalist Showcase and “Life Cycle of a Painted Lady” by Rachel Hayden. Outside, enjoy live music from Konjur Collective plus drinks and snacks in the Garden Bar.

Pit Crew Customs Repair, a skill share community, presents Setup the Scene, featuring music from local artists.

The exhibition connects art and music, inviting audiences to experience how music can resonate with and interpret visual art.

Dive into summer with Fluid Movement! We'll have fun activities from papier mache-making with recycled books to a book giveaway! All are in theme with this year's synchronized swimming show, "Dive into Banned Books: A Water Ballet of Resistance and Joy."

What’s Left Behind, curated by Lolo Gem and Zachary Diaz investigates meditative processes, record keeping and preservation.


THE HIPPODROME THEATRE AT THE FRANCE-MERRICK PERFORMING ARTS CENTER: 12 N. Eutaw St. // 5-9pm

Take a behind-the-scenes tour of the historic theatre and enjoy live music by pianist Tomás Jonsson in the lobby. Tours start every 15 minutes and run approximately 30 minutes.


KEUR KHALEYI AFRICAN DANCE: 847 N. Howard St. // Performance: 6-6:40pm

Traditional West African dance and song by the resident company, with crowd participation and a fun trivia segment!


LE MONDO: 406 N. Howard St. // 5-9pm, Performances: 7:30-9pm

Join Baltimore's premier gaming lounge for a night of art, live music by Cuppa T. Jones & 1-800-Blues (8p), and free game play. Try your hand at 3D pen printing, browse and connect with creative vendors, and see artwork on display. Relax with a classic board game or stay to play Mario Cart with a friend!


MAKING ART MATTER RAGE PAINT: 306 W. Redwood St. // Time 6-8pm

Come create a messy masterpiece under blacklight! This is available for families and friends of all ages. Dance and throw paint to your favorite tunes and artist. We provide hazmat suits, booties, gloves and goggles. Boxes will be provided to carry your wet canvases.


MAKING SPACE_BMORE: 709 N. Howard St. // 5-8pm

Through painting, sculpture and installation, this project, curated by Alfonso Sanchez Herrera Lasso, features the work of artists from different nationalities that reflect on the dialogues exchanged between the built and natural environments and global cultural experiences.

Opening night of Best in Show, an exhibition celebrating Maryland's rich equestrian culture as part of Preakness 150.

Join for the Youth Impact Jam Showcase celebrating creativity and leadership! Presented by Media Rhythm Institute and Baltimore City Public Schools, this interactive event highlights 6 youth-led projects tackling real issues. Explore, connect, and get inspired!

Visit the jewelry showroom to see the Pressed Nature Collection and see a live metal finishing demo! Meet the artist, Allison Fomich, and learn about her mixed metal jewelry line that is inspired by natual areas around Baltimore City.

How do I get to the Bromo Arts District?

The Bromo Arts District is located in Downtown Baltimore and is easily accessible by car and public transportation (bus, Light Rail, metro). If driving, street parking is available throughout the district, in addition to many parking garages.

Where does the Bromo Art Walk begin?

The Bromo Art Walk is a self-guided tour of the district. You may start at any of the participating locations. We recommend picking one location on the map to start and walking to other locations from there. Use our google map in the event description to help navigate the district.

Where can I get a bite to eat during the event?

We have many retailers offering specials during the event, including vendors at Lexington Market and the Mount Vernon Marketplace. View the main Eventbrite page to see participating retailers and their specials. Refreshments will also be available at several of the participating creative locations.

Will there be art available for purchase during the event?

Yes! Artwork will be available for purchase at galleries, artist studios, and popup markets. Thank you for supporting our local artists!

Do I have to stay for the full performance at participating venues?

While you are welcome to stay for full performance times at participating locations, please feel comfortable quietly leaving during performances in order to make it to your next location.

Will the event take place if it rains?

Yes! The Bromo Art Walk will take place RAIN OR SHINE! All programming will be inside of their listed locations or will provide cover if necessary.
