ABOUT BLACK DAE DAY + 510 DAY:

Founded by Jasmine La Fleur in 2021, the Black Fae Day annual holiday is celebrated on the second Saturday of May each year. Inspired by the need for more representation in media and cosplay, Black Fae Day is for black folks who love fantasy and freedom of expression. It's a day we can dress like any supernatural creature we can imagine. This year’s celebration happens to fall on 510 Day! Not only that, but for the 2nd year in a row at Lake Merritt, artist and community organizer Honey Gold Jasmine is excited to expand the #blackfaeday movement to the Bay. From day 1, Black Fae Day’s founder shared that this holiday exists to “remind the world that we’re here and we’re magical”. This mission happens to be in beautiful alignment with 510 Day’s message: “we’re still here”. 510 Day is more than a party, it’s a protest! Both events exist to take up space and celebrate our community.

Brought to you by Honey Gold Jasmine, Plus Arcade, and Afro Puff Gardens. An official 510 Day & official part of the Black Fae Day faemily reunion network.
