Join us for an insightful evening at Atithi Studios as we explore what it means to be a conscientious caretaker of fine art and cultural objects. Collection Stewardship: Care & Conservation is a dynamic panel discussion featuring expert perspectives on the preservation, conservation, and ethical care of art collections.

🎤 Brian Lang – Brian Lang, Moderator - Brian Lang brings over 30 years of experience in the visual arts, with a career spanning fine art gallery management, curatorial leadership in both independent and corporate settings, collection management, nonprofit administration, and private collection advising. He has collaborated extensively with arts institutions nationwide and remains an active advocate for the arts in Pittsburgh.

Locally, Brian serves on the Art Advisory Committee for Pittsburgh International Airport and the Art Committee of the Sports & Exhibition Authority. He also partners with artists and nonprofits to help cultivate a vibrant and inclusive creative community.

After more than two decades curating the corporate art collection for a Fortune 500 financial services company, Brian founded Brian J. Lang Fine Art Advising, where he now guides individual and institutional clients through all stages of their collecting journeys.His work continues to be driven by meaningful relationships and a deep passion for the transformative power of art.

🎤 Patty Huss West – An experienced objects conservator with over 30 years in private practice. Patty specializes in the conservation of wood, stone, ceramics, and glass, with a focus on painted and gilded surfaces. She is a Professional Associate of the American Institute for Conservation and operates her studio in Allison Park, PA.

🎤 Sylvia Rhor Samaniego – Director and Curator of the University of Pittsburgh Art Gallery. With a background in studio art and art history, Sylvia brings academic and curatorial expertise to her role stewarding a diverse collection of over 3,000 objects. She has curated exhibitions at The Andy Warhol Museum, Mattress Factory, and the August Wilson Center.

🎤 Adam Milliron – Art collector / Adam Milliron is a multidisciplinary creative director whose career spans photography, branding, and visual production. He began his journey in design and technology at the age of thirteen, teaching himself to code and build websites before moving into professional roles in photo labs, commercial catalog studios, and graphic design. His expertise in color theory and visual composition led him to a leadership role in the paint and color design industry.

His transition into the culinary and hospitality sector was organic, aligning his creative strengths with a growing industry that now defines much of his work. Drawing on a deep understanding of branding, lighting, and storytelling, Adam creates powerful visual narratives that elevate and define brands.

Based in Pittsburgh, he collaborates with clients both locally and around the globe.
