Join us for a musical journey through the rich traditions of folk, spirituals, country, Tejano, and rock. With heartfelt storytelling and powerful melodies, this program celebrates the power of music to connect and transform. Featuring songs made famous by Dolly Parton, Selena, Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan, Lydia Mendoza, and Redbone, this concert brings beloved classics and new favorites to life, including:

  • Will the Circle Be Unbroken
  • Down to the River to Pray
  • Shenandoah
  • Landslide
  • House of the Rising Sun
  • Now Let Me Fly
  • Seven Bridges Road

Plus, experience the world premiere of a stunning choral work by Appalachian composer Sherry Blevins, commissioned through our Bluebonnet Fund for New Music. This performance will also feature a performance by the 2025 recipient of our annual Melody Claire Hall Vocal Scholarship. Come celebrate with us!

“American roots music refers to a wide range of musical genres that are closely associated with ordinary people's lives…The roots tradition, like a thick-trunked tree, has many gnarled branches that dip and curl through cultural history and burgeoning genres.” - From “What is Roots Music?"
“So, when we look at folk music in history, it's always had a function…folk music is made by people to say something about the human condition.” - Rhiannon Giddens
