Description

Please join us for our upcoming All-Alliance meeting on Thursday, February 1 at Cambia Grove. There will be networking from 2:30-3 p.m., with the meeting from 3:00-4:30 p.m.

The meeting will feature the release and discussion of our new report, “First, Do No Harm.” The Alliance utilized Milliman’s MedInsight Health Waste Calculator, which has only been used in two other states in the country, to produce a groundbreaking analysis of waste and low-value health care services in Washington state. The results are striking, indicating significant opportunity to reduce health care services identified as overused through the national Choosing Wisely program.

In addition, we are excited to be joined by Dr. John Mafi and Dr. Matt Handley:

  • Dr. Handley is the Senior Medical Director for Quality and Safety with Kaiser Permanente Washington. Dr. Handley chairs the Washington State Choosing Wisely Task Force and is a tireless voice for evidence-based health care and reduction of overuse.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Virtual Meeting Option

For people who want to join virtually through a web conferencing system, we have a limited number of spots available. Priority will be given to those who would have to travel from outside the Seattle area to attend in person. If you are interested in joining click here to register for the webinar.

Organized by

The Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Initiative is sponsored by the Washington Health Alliance, a nonprofit organization working collaboratively to transform Washington state's health care system for the better. The Alliance works with its more than 185 member organizations to improve health and health care by offering a forum for critical conversation and aligned efforts by health plans, employers, union trusts, hospitals and hospital systems, health care professionals, start-up and pharmaceutical companies, consultants, consumers, and other health care partners.

The Alliance is committed to becoming an inclusive and anti-racist organization. We pledge to create an environment where all employees and members, regardless of skin color, culture, ethnic origin, sexual orientation, ability or age, feel valued and have opportunities for growth. We commit to identify, discuss, expose and challenge inequities, including structural racism, in healthcare systems across Washington.
