A 36-hour virtual innovation challenge that brings together diverse teams from all over the world to create new solutions to real problems. 

Background:The <a href="https://detroitfashionhackathon.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">2020 Detroit Fashion + Tech Hackathon</a> (DF+TH) is a virtual hackathon scheduled for Sept. 25th - 27th - hosted by <a href="https://www.whim-detroit.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Whim</a> and <a href="https://www.michiganbusiness.org/services/pure-michigan-business-connect/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Pure Michigan Business Connect</a> (PMBC), an initiative of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC).DF+TH is a 36-hour innovation challenge that brings together creatives and technology passions to build new solutions to the problems facing the fashion and apparel industries.Note: Registration closed Thursday, Sept. 24th @ 1pm EDT. Event Experience:We welcome all participants with passions for apparel design, creative, manufacturing, technology development, and data intelligence (AI/ML) to join as free agents or teams. We have participants registered from across the world so this will be a great opportunity to meet new people with similar passions from all over the world.Our virtual platform will allow participants to interact with organizers, mentors, and other teams in a seamless experience. We also have fun breaks planned with the help of some of our fantastic partners &amp; sponsors. This will be an experience you don&#x27;t want to miss!Problem Statements:This year, we have two exciting, and challenging, problem statements (business challenges) submitted by <a href="https://detroitdenim.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Detroit Denim</a> &amp; <a href="https://deviatefashion.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Deviate Fashion</a> - all within the apparel manufacturing processes. We have been dropping hints on social media <a href="https://www.instagram.com/detfashionhack/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">@detfashionhack</a> so make sure you follow us on social media (IG &amp; FB) - the final problem statements are revealed Friday morning before the hackathon starts in the evening (6 pm EST).These two innovative Detroit-based brands will share their business background and provide valuable insight into the business challenges they provided during the Friday night kick-off. After the kick-off party, participants &amp; teams will get to work on building their solution, architecture, prototype, and final pitch deck for submission on Sunday at 10 am.Build-Your-Team Matchmaking Session (Free Agents &amp; All)Don&#x27;t have a team, don&#x27;t worry - we will host a private free agent matchmaking or build-your-own-team session where participants can virtual network on our platform with others who have common interests or the diverse skillsets to build the perfect team. We will also be dropping hints around the problem statements and providing more fun details about the weekend. Everyone who registers as a free agent will receive an invitation to our virtual networking and build-your-team matchmaking session on Thursday, September 24th @ 5pm EDT. Those who have registered a team are also welcome to join our matchmaking session to virtually network with others who will be joining the event. Why Participate:Past participants of DF+TH has shared rave reviews of their experience - even going on to start new businesses with the tools they learned.
