UC Davis MSBA Directors Student Leadership Council (DSAC)This challenge is organized by the UC Davis MSBA DSAC. This student leadership group aims to improve the experience of students in the UC Davis MSBA Program in order to prepare exemplary business analytics leaders in the digtial era.UC Davis Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA)The UC Davis MSBA develops high-performance professionals who can create business value from data and models. Drawing on deep connections with companies on the forefront of the Big Data revolution, this year-long program blends data science skills with business knowledge and organizational savvy. The UC Davis MSBA program emphasizes learning-by-doing and teamwork through a live analytics project with a corporate sponsor guided by faculty mentors. Classes meet Friday and Saturday as well as some Wednesdays in downtown San Francisco, the global hub of analytics innovation. Graduates develop the technical chops to deploy the right data science tools and the managerial savvy to lead organizational change.The UC Davis MSBA is ranked 4th worldwide for value for degree by QS and is offered by the UC Davis Graduate School of Management. UC Davis MSBA Student Leadership

Graduate students from the UC Davis Graduate School of Management are invited to participate in the 3rd Annual UC Davis Data Hackathon. 
Showcase your business and analytics skills by solving a real-world problem for an organization over 24 hours. This is a great opportunity to highlight your strengths in front of corporate contacts, as you work to solve issues facing businesses today. 
Join us to compete for bragging rights and showcase your talent in front of corporate partners on the judging panel.

Day 1: 1:00 p.m.:    Event Begins: Event Kick-Off & Partner Showcase Session 2:00 p.m.:    Hacking Begins: Case and data sets released to students 6:00 p.m.:    Checkpoint 1: Business Understanding, Partner Q&A & Dinner 
Day 2: 8:00 a.m.:    Checkpoint 2: Model Building and Breakfast 12:00 p.m.:  Checkpoint 3: Final Suggestions, Partner Q&A and Lunch 2:00 p.m.:    Hacking Ends & Solution Showcase 5:00 p.m.:    Event ends 
This hackathon is a student-run event and organized by the MSBA Directors’ Student Advisory Council. 
<H2>About </H2>
The Hackathon is the signature event for the UC Davis MSBA and takes place in the first week of April. It is a multi-day data and business analytics competition that gives students an opportunity to showcase their business sense and analytical skills. Every year, the program collaborates with industry case partners who provide data and also form a part of the final judging panel. The objective is to showcase the program’s talent and establish recruitment opportunities for students. 
Teams of two to four students will work around the clock to deliver business solutions for a real-world problem. They will put their innovative thinking and collective blend of business and technical skills to work using problem structuring, statistical methods, machine learning, data visualization, etc. 
Analytics professionals and recruiters from partners will serve as judges. Winners will be announced on April 8. RSVP by April 1 to ensure your spot in the Hackathon.
