The Computer Engineering Society (CpES) is a non-profit, professional studentsociety in Kuwait University’s College of Engineering and Petroleum. It is theonly branch of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) in Kuwait since 1993, which is the world's largest scientific and educational computing society.CpES promotes its volunteer members to serve their fellow students, in the pursuit of having a positive impact on not only the students of the Computer Engineering department, but the college, the university, and the local and international society. The society encourages creativity and initiatives, while supporting new, distinct ideas that will aid CpES focus on providing a better environment for its audience, specifically the students of computer engineering.

<p>A hackathon  is a design sprint-like event in which computer programmers and others involved in software development, including graphic designers, interface designers, project managers, and others, often including subject-matter-experts, collaborate intensively on software projects.  The goal of a hackathon is to create usable software or hardware with the goal of creating a functioning product by the end of the event. Hackathons tend to have a specific focus, which can include the programming language used, the operating system, an application, an API, or the subject and the demographic group of the programmers. In other cases, there is no restriction on the type of software being created.</p>
