About this Event

The Cisco Jam is back and better than ever! Cisco Galway’s annual Hackathon returns for its fifth iteration, which will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2020. The event is open to second year software students from NUIG, GMIT, UL, LIT and AIT. Instruction, food and merchandise are all provided for free. 

You will work in groups of four to complete a series coding challenges, leveraging Cisco’s Webex cloud APIs. Compete against your peers and prove to the world that you’re the jammiest programmer out there!


Before the Event

Competitors must bring their own laptop to the event. They should have the following software installed in advance:

Note: Competitors don't need to be Python pros coming into the Jam. Experienced engineers will be available to help you out on the day. However, we recommend that you take some time before the event to familiarise yourself with the language. 


Other Info

  • Sign-ups close on the 1st of March 2020.

  • This event is only open to second year students from NUIG, GMIT, UL, LIT and AIT. Applicants must be enrolled in a software related course.

  • Please use your student email to register for the event. All non-student email registrations will be discarded, without warning. You will need to register again with a valid student email.

  • No entry will be granted to the Cisco Jam without prior registration, places are limited.

  • Bring your student ID with you on the day of the event or you may be turned away for security reasons.

  • Food will be provided on the day, please inform us of any allergies or dietary requirements when you're signing up.

Is ID required to enter the event?

Yes, you must present your Student ID when you arrive at Cisco. If you do not have your student ID, you may be turned away for security reasons.

 

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Parking is available at Cisco Galway. There is also a bus stop in Oranmore within walking distance of Cisco (approx. 10 minutes).

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

No, tickets are non-transferable.
