A day exploring new ways of experiencing music beyond the auditory. Music we can taste, smell, touch and see. Interactive and immersive music that alters our experience of reality. How can we utilize technology and other tools to re-imagine musical composition and performance?This non-competitive hackathon will include talks, performances, and workshops featuring open source tools. Hosted at the new Navy Yard offices of <a href="https://weav.io" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">weav.io</a>, a startup building adaptive music experiences.Come learn, explore, create and share!Free with RSVP, but capacity is limited!! Eastbound, the Park Av/Carlton Av stop on the B62 line is about 4 blocks away.NYC Ferries on the <a href="https://www.ferry.nyc/routes-and-schedules/route/astoria/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Astoria Line</a> stop at the Brooklyn Navy Yard directly behind Building 77. On the day of the event, a ferry arriving at the Brooklyn Navy Yard at noon will depart Astoria at 11:29, Roosevelt Island at 11:37, Long Island City Gantry State at 11:43 and East 34th St. at 11:50. The last ferry of the evening leaves for Wall St./Pier 11 at 10:04 PM, and the last ferry toward Astoria leaves at 8:52 PM. The path from the ferry to Building 77 is fully ADA accessible, and a self-driving vehicle carries passengers between Building 77 and the ferry landing. One-way adult NYC Ferry fare is $2.75.The closest subway station is the Clinton-Washington stop on the G line, roughly a 15 minute walk (0.8 miles).The Navy Yard Shuttle does not run on the weekend.ParkingLimited parking is available inside the Navy Yard, which can be accessed through the gate at 63 Flushing Avenue.
