Special Olympics Utah is a chapter of Special Olympics International. The Utah Chapter was established in 1971 and is a registered 501(C)(3) non-profit Utah corporation, operated by Utahns for Utah’s citizens with intellectual disabilities.Our mission:To provide year-round sports training and competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts and skills with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

DescriptionIt's time to PARTY like it's 32 degrees! Let's get FREEZIN' for a REASON!Last year, the bravest of athletes, unified partners, &amp; community friends took the plunge! The best part? After their bodies returned to 98.6°F and the donations were tallied, they raised more than $11,000 for Special Olympics Utah to support sports, competitions and programs. Booyah!All proceeds from the Polar Plunge go directly to benefit Special Olympics Utah athletes. We keep your fundraising dollars right here in Utah!Our volunteers will assist with general event setup, organize the flow of those who will be plunging, and coordinate a smooth checkin and registration. Bonus - you get to be a part of the "coolest" party of the year!Tentative Schedule:Event Setup - 8 - 9 AMRegistration and Pre-Plunge Party: 8:30 - 10 AMPolar Plunge: 10 AMEvent Teardown: 11:30 AM (may change depending on number of participants)
