For National Day of Civic Hacking, BetaNYC, NYC Department of Transportation, NYC Mayor’s Office of People with Disabilities, NYC Mayor’s Office of Data Analytics, and MakerSpace NYC are challenging New Yorkers to reimagine how all people move around our city streets and sidewalks. Join 100 diverse individuals, organizations, and government stakeholders for a day-long mapathon and civic hacking event to improve mobility equity in NYC.

<h3>How to get there?</h3>MakerSpace NYC is located at Brooklyn Army Terminal on the ground floor of building B at the address 140 58th street, Brooklyn, NY 11220. There are many ways to get there. For more information on transportation options click here. Because it is the weekend, we advise you to allow extra time for travel disruptions. Bike: Bike Racks available outside the venue. Only folding bikes will be permitted inside. Note, no nearby Citibike Stations. There are water fountains where you can fill up. </li><li>Laptops and chargers! </li><li>If you are participating in a mapathon challenge, we recommend bringing an external mouse (but it’s not necessary!). </li></ul><h3></h3><h3>What is provided?</h3>Food/Drink:<ul><li>Breakfast (breakfast sandwiches, bagels, fruit, coffee)</li><li>Lunch (catered by chef, Afsari Jahan) </li><li>Afternoon Refreshments (light snacks and beverages)</li></ul>Childcare!! We’ve contracted with Sitters Studio to ensure all of our attendants can participate in the event. If you plan to bring your little one(s) along, no problem, but you MUST REGISTER IN ADVANCE. This is no cost to you but space is limited. Register your child here.
