"Catching Our Breath" Asthma Awareness Day - American Lung Association

For over 115 years, the American Lung Association has led the fight for healthy lungs and healthy air.  Whether it's searching for cures to fight lung diseases, keeping kids off tobacco or fighting for laws that protect the air we all breathe, the work of the American Lung Association helps to save lives every day.

<P>All are welcome to this free event featuring healthcare providers RWJ Barnabas Health, University Hospital, Greater Newark Healthcare Coalition and others.  Providing the entertainment will be  No Puff Daddy and Special EFX.  Participants will engage in high-energy interactive activities focused on asthma management, dangers of vaping, fitness and overall health.</P>
<P>Community healthcare organizations will provide health screenings, asthma education, healthy eating tips and more.  Youth who complete the interactive activities can enjoy reduced $5.00 admission to Turtle Back Zoo, Codey Arena Public Skate Session and Safari Mini Golf!  Standard admission, ages 2-12 is $12.00</P>
<P>In addition to the morning's activities, the event will include a one mile walk to remember those lost to asthma.  Families are encouraged to bring photos to place on the remembrance banner.  A moment of silence will be held.</P>
<P>Event will be held rain or shine.  All children must be accompanied by an adult.  </P>
