What is the format for presentations?

Accepted Answer

Try to keep it relatively short, up to 5 minutes.  You'll have HDMI for presenting as well as wifi and a microphone.  You can do an audience Q&A if you want and it fits in the 5 minutes. A hackathon demo is a good model to follow.

Do I need to have a solid professional talk ready?

No! This is a casual meetup that just happens to have an awesome stage.  Don't be intimidated, everyone is welcome. This is a great opportunity to share what you're working on with a friendly supportive community. Given the time constraint, it might be best to practice beforehand to keep it focused.

Do I need to present?

No, just come join us and meet some new friends, see what people are up to, and maybe find your next big thing.  If you signed up to present but change you mind, please email roger@pincombe.com and I'll change your registration type.

What's the transit and parking situation?

Accepted Answer

The Great Star Theater is conveniently located a block from the new Chinatown Muni station and a short walk from Market St's Montgomery St Bart station. Parking in Chinatown can be difficult, so we recommend parking at the Portsmouth Square parking garage, which has a special evening rate of only $8
