The Next Big Think - A Celebration of Student Learning (STEM, Art, & More!)

Come one, come all! The San Mateo County Office of Education (SMCOE) invites you to join us this spring for our upcoming learning extravaganza: The Next Big Think!
This FREE public event promises to be our County’s largest-ever gathering of students, parents, educators, and learners of all ages. 
The Next Big Think will host our 2019 SMCOE STEM Fair alongside an expansive student Arts Expo, our first-ever Districts Showcase, a pop-up Makerspace, a hackathon, and more — all under one giant roof! There’s never been a celebration of San Mateo County learning and innovation quite like this one.
Bring your family, friends, and neighbors to the San Mateo County Event Center on March 3 between 11:00am and 4:00pm — with so much to see and do, you’re guaranteed to learn something new!

 ¡Los invitamos a todos! La Oficina de Educación del Condado de San Mateo los invita a la celebración más grande de aprendizaje del condado. El evento The Next Big Think  ilustrará la enseñanza, el aprendizaje y la innovación muy emocionante que está sucediendo en nuestro condado.
The Next Big Think incluirá las siguientes actividades especiales: • La feria oficial del 2019 en ciencia, tecnología, ingeniería y matemáticasdel condado de San Mateo • La Exposición de Artes Estudiantiles  del Condado de San Mateo que ilustrará las artes visuales, escénicas y digitales. • Una exhibición  completamente nueva que demostrará las innovaciones y proyectos emocionantes que se están llevando a cabo en cada distrito escolar  del Condado de San Mateo • Un espacio emergente de innovación, colaboración y aprendizaje , organizado en asociación con Teeny Makerspace • Un hackatón virtual:  ¡ven a hackear!
Animamos a todos los estudiantes, familias, educadores y personas de todas edades con deseo de aprender a asistir este evento gratuito. Nunca hemos tenido una celebración de aprendizaje como esta – con tanto que ver y hacer, garantizamos que aprenderá algo nuevo.
The Next Big Think es organizado por la Oficina de Educación del Condado de San Mateo en colaboración con las escuelas y distritos escolares del Condado de San Mateo.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
No. All ages are welcome!
 
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
Through a partnership with the San Mateo County Event Center, parking for the event will be provided free of charge.

What if we (students or schools) have art work we'd like to display or a band/dance team/performing group who wants to perform?

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
The printed parking permit is highly suggested in order to facilitate smooth entry. A printed ticket is not required.
