EICAC 2023 - Demonstrating the power of relational networks and university-driven, positive economic mobility

All resources necessary for growth and sustainability have their genesis in material, informational, and relational systems. The channels through which resources are exchanged require innovative strategies to facilitate local, regional, national, and global economic growth. The complexities of Maryland’s economic networks are a microcosm of the nation. Our state relies on fluent collaboration between dissimilar but equally important parts (e.g., rural and urban, public and private, community and institutional, underserved and heavily resourced). The economic success of the state and region will be determined by our ability to broaden access to opportunities and sustain inclusive success.The 2023 EICAC is a display of the power of relational networks. We are showcasing collaborative engagements established since our launch in January 2021 and providing an experience where new relationships can materialize. Programmatic partners who support an array of opportunities described in the 2023 Center for Strategic Entrepreneurship Annual Report (https://conta.cc/3xJFkTa) will participate. Collaborators in startup assistance, real estate acquisition, K12 initiatives, student engagement, faculty research, alumni support, local manufacturing, and more will participate in presentations, panel discussions, exhibits, and networking opportunities with influencers and thought leaders from all sectors.We are looking forward to hearing from our keynote speaker, Comptroller Brooke Lierman, who will set the tone for this event. 2023 EICAC attendees will:<ul><li>hear state-level leaders discuss vision and strategies for providing equitable economic opportunities. </li><li>exchange valuable information with corporate, governmental, academic, and community stakeholders.</li><li>discover resources that will contribute to entrepreneurial success on all levels.</li><li>discuss the role of HBCUs and MSIs in the expansion of collaborative economic opportunities.</li><li>develop strategies for closing workforce and wealth gaps.</li><li>consider new opportunities associated with the CSU Center Strategic Entrepreneurship and the new College of Business building on North Avenue and Warwick.</li><li>examine new developments in local, small-scale manufacturing and making.</li><li>explore innovative opportunities in K-12 engagement and pathway development.</li><li>engage in network-building across regions, sectors, cultures, and other differentiators that may impede collaborative progress.</li><li>assess the robust network of relationships engaged at the hub of academic innovation in West Baltimore.</li><li>appreciate the brilliance of Coppin State University faculty and student scholars.</li><li>and more!</li></ul>
