#Firsthack for grades 5 to 8

Learning Pathways Project, Inc. is pleased to present #firsthack – the first hackathon to be primarily focused on middle school students as its audience. Unlike the run of the mill hackathon, #firsthack is creatively engineered so that each middle school team will be paired with a high‐school mentor. Teams will receive guidance and support from idea conception and design to development and presentation, a strategy intended to help young students learn valuable skills and content while simultaneously boosting their confidence

Program Schedule:
8:30am ‐ 9:00am Registration
09:00am ‐ 09:10am Snacks
09:10am ‐ 10:30am Introduction to Hackathon team and speeches
10:30 – 11:30am -Introduction to MIT App Inventor  
11:30-12:30pm - Lunch
12:30 pm - #firsthack Begins; create your own app
3:00 PM - #firsthack Ends
Make sure your files are submitted and get away from the keyboards!!
3pm ‐ 4pm Demo's
Present your awesome work to judges!
4:15pm‐4:45pm Awards Ceremony & Speeches
Come hear the results of the #firsthack and have some fun! Parents are welcome to join.
